The Los Angeles Dodgers may be a 26-man roster full of personas non grata, as far as the rest of the league's fans are concerned, but they're beloved in their corner of the world, and huge in Japan. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who joined the Dodgers during the 2023 offseason a few months after Shohei Ohtani's contract gamble paved the way for his greatness, may already be the sturdiest postseason pitcher in the modern game, whether it's a start under duress or a relief appearance out of nowhere.

He's a certified legend already - but he's not Ohtani. No one is.

And so, when his 2026 Topps Chrome 1/1 World Series Champion Superfractor just landed on eBay this week, the only natural follow-up thoughts were:

1. Holy ... crow, that's beautiful and it's going to fetch a pretty penny.

2. Where's Ohtani's?

Pricing for 2026 Topps Chrome Gold /50 World Series variations tells Yoshinobu Yamamoto's story

If you want to add a Gold Parallel /50 of any of these champion Dodgers to your collection, it's going to cost you ... well, a very similar amount, no matter who the subject. A quick eBay search shows an almost agreed-upon price of $250 BIN. It's like a form of seller collusion, almost like what MLB owners did to force Tarik Skubal to LA and reap the benefits of increased fan support for a lockout (what, who said that?). Andy Pages, Mookie Betts ... $250. Hyeseong Kim, $150. Clayton Kershaw, $350. And he didn't even really earn that ring (kidding, what, who said that?).

The 1/1 superfractor of the man on the mound for the final out with the rubber arm and steely resolve to match? We're looking at previously unforeseen levels of spending if you're trying to outbid two nations at the same time and reel this one in.

But this is merely an appetizer for the Ohtani pull, which will create seismic waves throughout the hobby - and, again, this is for a team that most people love to hate instead of love to love.

Still, the power of both men is pretty undeniable by now, and this will be fascinating to track in the interim.
