NBA fans tuning in to watch the San Antonio Spurs' ahead-of-schedule coronation in the Finals against the New York Knicks were dealt a rude awakening, but one offensive truth emerged repeatedly amid a sequence of somehow-not-rerun Knicks comebacks. Dylan Harper cannot be stopped when he's on, and when he's fully unleashed as a Victor Wembanyama running mate next season, the Spurs should hit their considerable ceiling.
The 2026 NBA Finals were a particularly potent one in terms of narrative shifting, and while Wemby in his Villain Era might make investing in him a little touch-and-go for a bit, there's no better time to earn Harper stock. In fact, if you weren't able to get your hands on any white-hot Knicks stuff as it's scorched the marketplace, Harper is probably your next best bet.
Awfully beneficial for Dugout Sports Cards (dugoutcomo/IG) and lucky breaker devmax_cards23/IG to hit the Dylan Harper 1/1 Superfractor Auto out of Bowman Chrome while the wave is cresting.
Harper's certainly a potent value prop now ... but if the Finals taught us anything, WAIT 'TIL NEXT YEAR. After a season that ended without matching his team goal, but with his personal stock rising in the eyes of every neutral observer (and terrified Knicks fan), Harper's going to enter next year on a mission. And this card is going to continue to glisten.

Crucial offseason could set Dylan Harper up to be Spurs' (non-controversial) secondary scorer
Harper, as anyone who watched the Finals knows, is able to get to the cup relentlessly (and in almost indefensible fashion). He tried to let his play do the talking this June, but a few leaks here and there continued to do a little bit of agitated talking for him, too.
His father, NBA veteran Ron Harper, exploded at a recent bit of Twitter buzz indicating his camp would "demand" a demotion for De'Aaron Fox, whose difficult Finals (on an injured leg) helped doom the Spurs. Of course, there was an awkward moment where Spurs teammate Devin Vassell failed to keep the chatter in-house and admitted to Harper being frustrated with his role at times.
Harper, of course, handled this the best way he possibly could've: carrying the offense when the opportunity arose on the biggest stage. If his value waned a bit during the season, it should burst to open next year's campaign, with this superfractor leading the way. As long as the Spurs keep in-house leaks to a minimum while figuring out how to continue Harper's ascent, the sky's the limit for both card and player.
