Around the Minor Leagues

Our goal at Grading on the Curve is to bring you the best minor league coverage on the internet. The bottom line is that there is simply too much going on every day for one coverage team to stay on top of. That’s where our fellow FanSided Major League Network sites come in and help catch you up on the small things.

Every now and then, we will take you around the minor leagues with minor league signings, prospect profiles, rankings and rumors from other sites across the network. Our crack staff is tops at what we do, but sometimes an outside look, with a little hometown bias thrown in, makes for an interesting take on things.

More from MLB Prospects

So sit back as Grading on the Curve takes you Around the Minor Leagues:

Ricky Keeler, co-editor of District On Deck, takes a look at one of the more unheralded pitching prospects in the Washington Nationals’ farm system: Nick Pivetta. He may not be a top 10 prospect or household name just yet, but the 21-year old left-hander has a lot to offer.

Our friends over at Bosox Injection look into the rumors of a possible exhibition game between the Boston Red Sox and the Cuban National team. No stranger to international talents, already trading away Yoenis Cespedes and signing Rusney Castillo, the Red Sox would have familiarity should the idea and game come to fruition.

We here at Grading on the Curve have broken down the Baseball America list of top Cubs talent, as well as Keith Law’s take on their top prospects, but the guys at Cubbies Crib take a look at the abundance of talent the Cubs have in Baseball Prospectus’s updated 2015 Top 101 Prospects.

Meet Toronto Blue Jays Top 10 prospect, Devon Travis. Ryan Mueller at Jays Journal breaks down the 24-year old second baseman and his ETA in Toronto.

As if to add more unnecessary drama to the Alex Rodriguez media circus we are all about to endure, Billy Brost of Yanks Go Yard reports that the Yankees have signed 31-year old righty Kyle Davies to a minor league deal.  Davies hasn’t thrown a big league pitch since 2011, when he surrendered A-Rod’s 500th home run.

Stay tuned, MiLB fans. There is some sort of story breaking nearly every few hours in minor league baseball. After all, with pitchers and catchers reporting in a few short weeks, we all must remember: IT’S BASEBALL SEASON, BABY!!!
