This has been a fun week here at Grading on the Curve, as it always is when we start contemplating the best prospects in the minor leagues.

We’ve begun our Organizational Top 15 prospect posts and we hope that you’re enjoying what you’ve read.

We’ve started with the AL East and we’ve seen a big variety in the quality of the teams’ farm systems.

The Toronto Blue Jays’ Top 15 has two starting pitchers getting closer to the show but most of the club’s intriguing talent is starting to burble up from the Rookie-Ball affiliates. Lansing, Michigan, home of the Jays’ Class-A affiliate Lugnuts, is going to host a ton of talent in 2014.

The Tampa Bay Rays continue to develop young pitching among their top prospects but with Wil Myers graduating last season, the star factor has decreased in their system significantly.

We’re not high on the New York Yankees’ farm system at all. While they have some toolsy young position players at the top of the list (and a couple of up and coming catchers despite signing Brian McCann), the Yankees look like they’re a bit thin on pitching.

Yesterday, we posted our Top 15 Prospects for the Boston Red Sox and boy, was that a fun list to come up with. The Pawtucket Red Sox are going to be a team that’s just full of talent and with so many high ceiling guys hanging around Triple-A, the Red Sox could be boasting some Rookie of the Year candidates for several years to come.

We’re going to take a little break from the Top 15 Prospects articles until early next week. We’ve got some of our writers on the road but we’ll definitely get you through the weekend with some “Prospects on the Move” pieces where we’ll update you on where some of the minor leaguers who were involved in this week’s trades are going and give you the important information on them.

Coming next week will be the Top 15 Prospects for the Baltimore Orioles, which will be spearheaded by our newest staff writer, Danny Black. Following that, we’ll start in on the AL Central, starting with one of the best systems in Baseball, the Minnesota Twins. We’re also going to wind up our Top 115 Prospects Recaps to get you ready for the Top 100 list for 2014.

We’re also looking for more writers here at Grading on the Curve and if think you’ve got what it takes, check out this post and get in touch!
