April 6th Honor Roll: Ben Alsup and Jeremy Baltz

No fewer than six batters in the minors had four or more hits during Saturday’s games. The best performance at the plate came off the bat of 22-year outfielder Jeremy Baltz. The Padres 2nd round pick in last June’s draft, notched three extra-base hits and six RBI on the day.

On the pitching side of the coin it was Ben Alsup, the Rockies 18th round pick from the 2011 draft class, that stole the show. He struck out more batters than any other pitcher on the day and did it without surrendering a run or a walk over seven innings.
