The Prospect Pulse: June 8th, 2012

The Prospect Pulse is a recap of some of the top performances in the minors from the previous day. Prospects are sorted by the league in which they play with their parent club is listed in parentheses. I will typically select 5-6 performances for each league but will vary that based on the number of games played. In addition, a hitter and pitcher of the day will be selected at the end of each article.

A couple minor changes to the format before we jump into things. First off I have flipped the order that the leagues are listed so the lower levels now appear first instead of last. Second, I will be abbreviating the parent club for each player to save some keystrokes.

The Dominican Summer League is underway, and has been for a few days. I briefly entertained including those performances into this series but came to the conclusion that it would be too unwieldy. I do plan to include the best performances from the Pioneer, Appalachian, Northwest and New York- Penn Leagues when those seasons start up in a few weeks, but still have not decided what to do about the AZL and GCL.

Pitcher and Hitter of the Day

I considered Sean Murphy, Adam Warren and Trevor Bauer but the Pitcher of the Day belongs to Jackson’s Danny Hultzen. Everett Williams of the Lake Elsinore Storm was the easy pick for Hitter of the Day.
