The Prospect Pulse: June 5th, 2012

The Prospect Pulse is a recap of some of the top prospect performances from the day before. Prospects are sorted by the league in which they play with their parent club is listed in parentheses. I will typically select 5-6 performances for each league but will vary that based on the number of games played. In addition, a hitter and pitcher of the day will be selected at the end of each article.

Tuesday was without question the day of pitching. Very few offensive performances, especially outside of the International League, stood out and it was slim pickings for the honor of “hitter of the day.” Thanks to one member of the Clippers however, that decision would have been easy to make regardless.

International League

LF – Erik Komatsu, Syracuse (Washington): 3-5, HR, 4 RBI, 2 R

LHP – John Lannan, Syracuse (Washington): 9.0 IP, 4 H, ER, BB, 6 SO

He doesn’t really belong on this list, but he went the distance.

LHP -Drake Britton, Portland (Boston): 5.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 6 BB, 2 SO

Not the best stat line given all the walks but it’s hard to ignore five no-hit innings in a player’s Double-A debut.
