  • Third overall pick Trevor Bauer fans eight, scatters five hits over five innings in his AA Mobile debut.

  • Top prospect Bryce Harper made his third Double-A homer a memorable one, sending a two-run walk-off shot over the center-field fence Friday to propel Harrisburg back into first place. Overall, he’s batting .296 with 17 homers and 58 RBIs in 105 games between Harrisburg and Hagerstown.

  • Moynahan writes a nice piece on Connecticut Tigers second baseman Colin Kaline who is the grandson of Al Kaline, the Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer who has spent nearly six decades with the organization as a player, broadcaster and executive.

  • MLB.com’s No. 1 pitching prospect Matt Moore, struck out 10 over six shutout innings Friday, but his early exit and the bullpen’s struggle cost him a fourth straight victory in Durham’s 3-2 road loss to the Buffalo Bisons. Regardless, the Rays top prospect lowered his ERA to 0.88 in fifth Triple-A start.
