Modesto Goes Nuts, Defeats Stockton 20-2

Sometimes you have the take the corny title that every other media outlet will use and today is one of those times. The Modesto Nuts just finished off a 20-2 shellacking of the Stockton Ports in Stockton. The story of the day, originally, was to see if Stockon’s Michael Choice would homer for a 6th consecutive day but instead it was Modesto who put on an offensive display.

Modesto, who is the class A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, recorded most of their runs against Stockton, the Oakland Athletics class A affiliate, in a 12 run onslaught in the 3rd. The loss was only Stockton’s 2nd of the second half. After covering a no-hitter last night I thought it was only fitting to do a write up on this game tonight.

Here is how Modesto’s 12 run 3rd inning went down:
